Amanda’s love for music started early. From the time she was a little girl, she approached singing like she does everything else—with passion.
As a young girl competing in 4-H sponsored talent contests and later in WAZY Idol in Lafayette, IN, Amanda always dreamed of a career in music. She embraced every opportunity to perform at events and musical competitions, trying a variety of genres before finding both her niche and her exhilaration in Rock 'n' Roll.
In her late teens, she became a member of a local band. Since then she has established quite a following in her community and beyond as the lead singer of several bands, including Steeleto and Ruinaces.
And, yes, she does ride a Harley
Some of Amanda’s favorite past gigs were the ones sponsored by ABATE of Indiana. Through this association and its biker members, Amanda fueled another passion—Harley Davidson motorcycles. Her dad CJ, mother Kathy, and brother Nick share that same love of riding.
Where did this powerhouse entertainer come from?
Amanda Lindsay Overmyer was born in Little Rock, AR, in 1984 while her father served there in the United States Air Force. Eventually, the Overmyer family made their way back to their home state of Indiana, where Amanda resides today. A 2002 graduate of Delphi Community High School in Delphi IN, Amanda went on to earn her nursing degree at Ivy Tech Community College.
Amanda’s unique, raw talent wins audiences
Even while working full-time as a respiratory nurse, Amanda had an undeniable urge to perform. American Idol gave her a way to test the waters without risk, but it has been her success post-Idol that will catapult her to recording success. Rave reviews about her recent live performance at the Whiskey-a-Go-Go were just the start.
